Ludhiana, Aug 1:Northern India Printers Association(NIPA) organised its general body meeting on July 31 at the office of Offset Printers Association(OPA) located at South City. It was the silver jubilee meeting in which members from all across the state, Himachal, Jammu, Haryana participated. The main attraction of the meeting was the release of `third edition of directory⠮ Kamal Chopra, General Secretary NIPA said, his is not only a directory but an encyclopaedia of Indian Print and Packaging Industry. OPAdirectory is popular not only in India but overseas also. NIPA directory is an attempt to compile the data of members, other printers of the region. The details about the Paper/ Ink and other raw material manufacturers and suppliers in India. Printing and allied machinery manufacturers, paper mills , printing rollers in India etc . has also been included. Besides this, the list of printing institutes in India, printers and allied associations in India, printing Magazines published in India is also given.
The progrrame had technical session about the current issues on print and packaging industry in which finance secretary Hans Raj spoke on labour problem. He said, labour shortage is no doubt common in our industry but the industry needs to educate the workers a lot who leave the jobs for minor issues. Even the owners also need to know the ways of retaining a worker.
After listening to his suggestions, NIPA and OPA members decided to conduct technical workshops inside the printing units to educate the workers as well as the owners of the factories. Om Parkash Mahajan Vice-President of NIPA talking about the latest advancements in Printing industry said, the printing industry in India is currently experiencing many transitions, the latest is in the form of digital printing. Already in the North India, few digital printing machines have been set up because the demands from the print customers are increasingly being met with digital printing and related services. The print on demand market is projected to grow by 14%. In this light, the printers really need to upgrade the skills so as to keep pace with the orders of the customers. The meeting was sponsored by Electronica finance limited, TASA enterprises, Krishna stationery mart, Lucky processors, Pankaj Lamination and Newtech processing house. A technical session was organised by Electronica finance limited in which it was told that non-collateral loans of upto Rs 1.5 crores will be given to the members and the approval of loans will be done by OPA.
Nearly 50 persons from across the North attended the meeting. The prominent among them included: Mr Om Prakash Mahajan C.G Dhingra, Mr. Parveen Aggarwal, Mr. Joginder Singh. In between the association members were also seen cracking jokes so as to keep the mood alive ..Cake cutting ceremony was also performed to celebrate the silver jubilee of NIPA general body meeting
